An Easy + Affordable Skin Care Routine For Sensitive Skin

Happy Wednesday friends!

Can you believe it, we’re almost through our first week back to school! It’s been fun but I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty darn tired. These strict wakeup calls are coming pretty early!

I don’t talk about beauty stuff too often around here, probably because I don’t care that much about it. But, over the last few years my skin has become more sensitive than it used to be and I’ve been trying to find a skin care regime that actually works.

Well, I’m happy to report that I’ve found a few simple solutions and I’m finally seeing results! My only requirements for a simple skin care plan is that the products are not overly expensive and there aren’t too many steps. I promise you will not find me lathering up with expensive eye creams or other products whose purpose I don’t even understand.

But before we get started I want to tell you that this is not a sponsored post. These are the products that I’ve found through trial and error that seem to work best for my sensitive skin, keeping it clean and clear.

I recently discovered the Simple brand of skin care products and I love the ones that I’ve tried. And I do like the idea of putting fewer harsh chemicals on my skin.

Here are my morning and nighttime routines:

Simple Morning Skin Care Routine:

Cleanse with Simple face wash. Follow that with the Simple rich moisturizer for the winter time and the Simple light moisturizer with SPF in the summer. I use the moisturizer on mornings that I’m not wearing makeup or will be applying my makeup later in the day. If I’m putting on makeup right away I skip the moisturizer and just use the Neutrogena tinted moisturizer or the Physician’s Formula CC cream.

Simple Nighttime Skin Care Routine:

Cleanse with Simple face wash. Follow with the Thayers witch hazel toner. Then end with the Paula’s Choice skin clearing treatment. The Simple foaming face wash is also one of my favorites!

I’ve had a tough time with my skin including some lovely adult acne and it wasn’t until I actually started using this combination of products and washing my face at night regularly (I know, so bad and definitely part of the problem) that it cleared up. Most days my skin is even and clear and much softer than it used to be.

BONUS: I thought you might be interested in a few other products that I use and love. This is my tried and true makeup remover. Make sure you get the oil free one – the bottle with blue writing, not pink.

If I ever feel like I have a few rough skin days or my skin just needs a little extra love, this Botanics clay face mask is my go-to.

Oh and most of the products are under $10 so that is a HUGE win in my book!

Well, if you are like me and really hate taking care of your skin and hate spending lots of money on it even more, I hope this helps!

I’m always open to hearing about new products so please leave your recommendations below…unless you’re going to recommend a product that costs $50 for .25 ounces :) Let me know if you use or try any of these products too!

Oh and we’re headed to West Point, NY this weekend so make sure to follow along on Instagram and Facebook!

Cheers!
